Why FTP?

FTP is the current standard for sending and receiving files via the internet. From updating web sites to transfers of images or media files, FTP is the preferred method. FTP sites are easily set-up for client’s use to transfer large files and images for printing.

We can setup a client's profile on the server. With a user name and a password you can log onto the FTP site to begin uploading your files to your own folder. By using a FTP client program* client's can simply upload files by dragging them to the folder provided by us on the server side. The folder remains locked to ensure confidentiality at all times when several users are utilizing the site.

Any document or art files greater than 10 MB in size will not typically be accepted via standard e-mail. We don't advocate the use of e-mail or file share sites to avoid third party associations from obtaining confidential information.

All FTP transfers must be followed up with e-mail or phone call to confirm successful delivery of a file.

If you require further security, we recommend you use an archive program such as WinZip or WinRar on Windows or DropStuff on the Macintosh. When archiving your files lock it with a password. You can then confirm the transfer of your file and include the password in your follow up e-mail.

* Simple to use client programs like CuteFTP or FlashFXP are free to use and to download.
